If you collect oil cans etc. this would make a cool addition to the collection; these filters are unused but as old as they are I'm not too sure how the filtering material would stand up under use as they were made over 50 years ago but they make a cool display. I worked in a Gas Station in the mid to late sixties and this type of filter wasn't seen often then as most vehicles had already converted to the spin on filter. This particular filter fit the 1949-53 Buick Straight Eight and a number of other vehicles including all Military Standard Junior Cartridges; I took care of a 3/4 Ton Jeep in 1970-71 that was still using this filter; do not remember what year the 3/4 ton was made but it had quite a few miles and hours on it.

McLaren P1 Nurburgring record time is…a fiction for designers inspiration

The source for the story was an image taken from a Chinese website showing the McLaren logo and a time board showing the P1 as having done a lap of the Nurburgring in 6:33s. The image was real, but the story wasn’t. It seems the image was part of a ‘Mood Board’ McLaren put together when they were designing the P1 to inspire their designers with what could be possible, and that’s found its way on to the Interwebs in China.
