Up for auction is a set of most (if not all, depending on model/year) of the original tools to fit in the trunk-lid tool kit on a wide variety of vintage 1970s through 1990s BMW cars.  These tools are the OEM Heyco brand, and they would have been original to the tool kit attached to the inside of the trunk lid for most of that era's 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 series Bimmers (including the E21 E23 E24 E28 E30 E31 E32 E34 E36 E38 E39, among others), and for many cars before and after that era.

These tools are in great, fully functional shape (they look like they've never been used at all), and they should fit into the cut-outs in the tool kit for most BMWs of the 70's through 90's (and probably many before and after that era).  These are quality tools that are made in Germany, and they will last a lifetime.  The tools in this auction consist of the following items:

  • The slip joint pliers (aka water pump pliers)
  • The 19mm - 17mm combination wrench
  • The 13mm - 12mm combination wrench
  • The 10mm - 8mm combination wrench
  • The reversible screwdriver (both Phillips and flat tips)
  • The spark plug socket
  • One small socket (I'm not sure what these are for, but many BMW took kits have them)
  • The extension handle for the spark plug socket

This is a great opportunity to fill in the missing tools in the trunk tool kit of your classic BMW, to complete a faithful restoration of your vintage Bimmer.  And as a longtime BMW driver myself, I can vouch for the fact that these tools can come in very handy--both in emergency roadside situations and when working on the car at home in your driveway--so it's always a good idea to keep your trunk tool kit stocked with the proper tools, because you'll never know when they might be needed!

Shipping will be a flat $5.25 to anywhere in the U.S. via fast USPS Priority Mail.  I will also ship internationally by USPS First Class International Mail--bidders outside the U.S. please use the shipping calculator under the "Shipping and Payment" tab to determine international shipping costs.  Unless we make other arrangements in advance, payment by PayPal required.

Happy bidding!

Kia KND-4 Concept (2007): first official pictures

Tue, 10 Apr 2007

By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 10 April 2007 11:16 KND-4 concept: the lowdown Kia has lifted the lid on its latest concept car, the KND-4 crossover. Painted in lime green paint and sporting deep-dished, 20-inch alloys, it’s not what you’d call subtle. There’s not much chance of seeing the KND-4 parked on your local Kia dealer's forecourt, though - this is very much a design project to showcase the company’s direction for its 4x4s.

Ssangyong e-XIV EV Concept at Paris 2012

Mon, 10 Sep 2012

Ssangyong are continuing their concept offensive with the e-XIV EV Concept, a range extender compact SUV. Mahindra seem intent on turning Ssangyong from the Lada of Korea in to another South Korean car maker to be taken seriously. We’ve recently seen a big push for the Korando SX, with Ssangyong pitching it hard against the competition as the cheapest way in to a compact SUV, and at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year we had a concept pointing to the next generation compact SUV from Ssangyong with the convertible Ssangyong XIV-2.
