“This car radio and amplifier network is complete but it is dirty. The tuning dial "tries" to move when the knob is rotated. The needle pointer goes "sideways" like when the tuning dial is turned. The controls seem to operate smoothly but I did not turn them much as I know the radio needs to be completely cleaned, lubricated and restored before the controls will operate as they should. Up for auction is this old vibrator tube type AM car radio. I think it came out of an old mid fifties Dodge. Well this is the story I have around this radio; about 20 years ago I came across a junk yard and the man that ran it said they were going to crush all the older cars to make room for newer ones. So I went around and took all the car radios out of the cars that had tube type radios. I racked up about 8 tube type radios and the guy let me have them for free. This is one of the ones I got but it was so long ago that I don't remember the model car it came from. It seems like it was a big old wing finder Dodge of some type but I'm not sure. I do not know the model number or serial number. There are two logos way up under part of the radio but I could not see them well enough to make out the numbers. I think this is a 12 volt type. Once restored, these older car radios perform and sound outstanding. This would make a great unit to restore or just to use for parts. If you have any questions, feel free to send email.
