This is a set of original Firestone F70-14 Wide Oval Belted Vintage Tires to fit all popular Musclecars in the 60's and early 70's such as Chevelle, Camaro. Buick GS, Pontiac GTO, and Olds 442. May also fit certain Plymouth Barracuda, GTX and Road Runner, Dodge Super Bee and Challenger, Mercury Cyclone, and Ford Torino GT and Mustang. Tires are 2 ply Polyester & 2 Ply Fiberglass.
This set has been stored in the dry for decades. Has been out of the sun and has NO DRY ROT!!!! They were removed at about 20K miles. Two of them were at about 1/2 tread, and two were on the front and wore a little further on the outsides but not yet on the tread check. These tires typically only lasted about 20-30K miles in the first place and these are consistent of a car with about 20 to 30K miles.

These would be perfect for a low mileage survivor that has had it's tires changed. They should not be considered as driving tires but more for display. Needless to say we don't suggest you drive much on 45-50 year old tires. Beads appear to be OK to hold air although one does have some splits from dismounting. Does not seem like it would keep it from holding air. One has a small chip out of the black rubber over the redline insert, and another has the surface peeling loose over the redline insert, probably due to being parked against a curb. Both of these will require some tire black to cover these defects, an easy fix. See the photos included of these defects, they are pretty minor. We did not have these mounted or dismount them, so I cannot vouch for them holding air without tubes, but I think it's a good bet they will, as they show no cracks or plugs. Remember you are buying vintage tires, so you cannot expect them to be perfect. But what a great finishing touch they will make on a survivor car that has lost it's originals.
Due to size and weight, foreign orders must contact us before bidding. We can make this go to some places by splitting it up in two packages, but Ebay does not allow calculation for a two box shipment. For this reason contact us for price first.

Cop saves life of choking driver

Thu, 14 Aug 2014

A US POLICE officer saved a motorist in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who was choking after stopping her for driving through a red light. Officer Jason Gates realised the woman could not breathe when he approached her vehicle, so he hit her on the back to try to clear her airway. When that did not work, he performed the Heimlich manoeuvre which dislodged a piece of sausage and bread from her throat.

Volkswagen wants Karmann

Mon, 26 Oct 2009

VW wants to buy Karmann Just like all the other specialist coachbuilders out there – Zagato, Pininfarina, etc – life has not been a bed of roses for a long time for Karmann. Once a great way for wealthy owners to ‘Customise’ their cars, the specialist coachbuilders have relied more and more on relationships with big car makers to survive. None more so than Karmann, whose hopes for survival rested on VW divvying up an order for electric cars.

We’ve written endlessly about the slow down in car production worldwide. All the top end manufacturers have made savage cuts in jobs and production. But there seemed to be one company bucking the trend – Audi.
