This auction is for a complete 427 big block Chevrolet engine from Carburetor to oil pan.

This engine is from the post -famous Baldwin-Motion super car era. 1974 was the last for these powerful machines. After that, the federal goverment EPA stepped in and began fining Motion Performance for federal emissions violations on new vehicles. Motion Performance continued business as a speed shop and mail order business into the 1980's. Engine conversions were only done on export vehicles, customer owned vehicles, and for off road use only.
This engine is from a "customer owned vehicle" for "off road use only". The car was purchased new and taken to Motion Performance to have many modifications done. The photo of the car is from 1976 and shows the ZL1 L88 hood, headers with side pipes, Aluminum slot wheels. The engine is a 12.5:1 compression ratio, 500 horsepower ,454 block with 4 bolt mains, decked, bored .060, forged TRW L2268 35 cc dome pistons that the skirts are knurled, forged connecting rods with Milodon rod bolts, # 6223 forged steel cross drilled 3.76 stroke crankshaft, internally balanced, 8" high perfomance 3870325 balancer, the heads are 290 castings with 2.19/1.88 valves, Manley 7/16 studs and guideplates, .600 lift springs, and roller rockers. The oil pan is a GM Chevelle 68-72/ Camaro 67-69 style that the double baffle is modified to accomodate the M77HV pump with a larger Schemelzer sump.
Recently overhauled, with new bearings, new Howards performance hydraulic camshaft and lifters, valve job, new valve guides, new springs, new Fel Pro gaskets.
Included is a Carter fuel pump, Holley 850 double pumper carburetor, and Edelbrock aluminum water pump that were installed in the 1980's
The last photo shows the engine being removed from the car before it was recently rebuilt. This motor was only out of the car one other time in the past 30 years and was rebuilt by Motion Performance, along with other trendy upgrades done back in the 1980's.

What's the true value on the engine or the engine replaced in the car restored ? I really don't know and haven't pursued that avenue. There is some good information on a few Motion Corvettes from the 70's and 80's on the internet if you want to do some research.

Congress scales back tax break for car buyers

Thu, 12 Feb 2009

A proposed tax break for new-vehicle buyers is dramatically scaled back in the final version of the economic stimulus bill. Auto dealers and their allies had sought to make interest on auto loans and the sales and excise taxes on new-vehicle purchases deductible from federal taxes. Proponents say those measures are needed to boost showroom traffic and sales.

Audi A6 allroad 3.0 TDI is the five millionth Audi with quattro 4WD

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

The first Audi qauttro hit the headlines in 1980 and now – 33 years later – Audi has produced its five millionth car with AWD – an A6 Allroad. It’s thirty years since Audi became the first mainstream car maker to offer a four wheel drive road car when the Audi quattro hit the road, offering a (certainly for then) fulsome 200PS with the added reassurance of four wheel drive for added grip. True, others had flirted with 4WD road cars before Audi made it mainstream, such as Jensen with the FF in the 1960s, but Audi’s bold move was a real first for a mainstream maker, even if the Audi quattro was not exactly an entry-level model.
