Minor aging and manufacturing flaws...
Brand:Tubex Surface Finish:Satin Chrome Finish Manufacturer Part Number:TPC 175 Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Placement on Vehicle:Left, Right, Rear

Here are a couple of neat old auto accessories that are still in their boxes after 60 years, although the boxes are getting frail.  Please read the whole description before buying.

There are a lot of blemishes in the chrome, and most from the factory... nicks, scratches, etc.  The outlets are not perfectly formed, as pictured.

There are also some areas of weak plating on the chrome, as pictured. These were manufactured with a "satin" finish, and are not super glossy like some chromed parts.  The chrome is thin in some areas.  I picture them from all sides so you can see what you are getting.

These are "Tubex Jr." chromed steel exhaust tips, and they were made to fit LOTS of cars, as the box side shows in one of the pictures... over a dozen makes from 1937-1951.  The application list stops at 1951, and that's how we can date these parts.

These are made to slip onto and clamp down on a 1 3/4" outer diameter exhaust pipe, and they are about 7 inches long overall.  If you have hot rodded your car, or put a larger diameter exhaust on, this may not fit, even though your car is listed on the box.  I recommend you measure your exhaust before purchasing.

I have to mention the flaws and imperfections, but  these are a rare old pair.  If you are into satin finishes, they are ideal.

Don't worry... you'll love 'em!!

Don’t forget to take a look at my other auctions if you love old parts and ACCESSORIES!

Milano Design Week 2004

Mon, 17 May 2004

In its 43rd year the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (international furniture fair) finally takes on a new, more encompassing name: Milano Design Week 04. The reason for this change in quite simply a question of numbers; the week long fair is no longer only a platform for furniture manufacturers to show their latest collections, it is an enormous manifestation of all that is designed from everywhere in the world. Therefore, and understandably, an event that hosts the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (home ware and furniture), Eurocucina (bathrooms), EIMU (office furniture), Tessile (fabrics), Salone Satellite (young designers), Dining Design, Designing Designers, Material ConneXion, and Street Dining Design deserved a more noble title.

New Mercedes B Class to spawn 7 Seat version

Sun, 02 Sep 2012

It looks like Mercedes are going to stretch the appeal of the new B Class by adding a new 7 seat option. Mercedes foray in to small hatchbacks has not exactly been an unmitigated success. The last generation A and B class were really just two sizes of the same car, neither of which had much driver appeal and were bought as runarounds by Mercedes buyers who wanted a car for ‘er indoors.
