Oil pan is solid. The brown spots in the picture are rust and dirt. Rust is just surface rust and can be sandblasted. Rust does NOT go thru to inside of pan. Pan is clean inside and outside. Pan should fit Volvo engines with the B21or maybe the B23 engine. It will NOT work on a B230 engine. Check compatability of pan before purchasing.
