Porsche Panamera Junior (Porsche Pajun) still on the cards

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

Porsche Panamera Junior (Porsche Pajun) still on the cards The idea that Porsche would build a saloon to sit below the Panamera have been on the cards almost as long as the Panamera has been with us. (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});Back in early 2011 we reported that a Porsche Pajun was being planned for 2016 and in 2012 a Porsche source confirmed that a baby Panamera was under development with plans to get it to the market in 2015. Now, Porsche boss Matthias Muller has all but confirmed to Autocar that the ‘Pajun’ is under serious consideration, although the logistics of building a ‘volume’ model like the Pajun is a tough logistical ask as Porsche has just gone through that exercise to produce the Porsche Macan.

Sensual video of the redone 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK is crawling the Interwebs, and it offers an in-depth look at this new retractable hardtop sports car. The promo film runs for nearly 10 minutes and showcases the Mercedes with clear shots inside and out. The video has an alluring French narrator, but thankfully, there are English subtitles which highlight some of the features.

BMW Concept X5 eDrive (2013) plug-in hybrid at Frankfurt motor show

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Sharing the stage with the BMW i3 at the Frankfurt motor show is the BMW Concept X5 eDrive. The plug-in hybrid X5 is set to re-write the SUV rulebook with its four-cylinder petrol-electric drivetrain producing claimed figures of less than 90g/km of CO2 and a tree-hugging 74.3mpg, smashing the Lexus RX450h which produces 145g/km and 44.8mpg. What’s more, it’s better than the most efficient 3-series currently on sale, and far more frugal than the V8-powered BMW X6 Active Hybrid that was axed in late 2011.
