Newly re-wired service using YOUR used components

We are Z-Fever, Inc in Tampa FL and we have been providing wiring harness solutions for Nissan and Infiniti motor swaps for almost 20 years now.

We also own VQ35swap.com and there is a lot of information regarding different VQ engine swaps.

This particular auction is for a VQ37VHR wiring harness service. If you have a 370Z or G37 engine and you are attempting to install that motor into an older chassis like a 240Z, 510, Miata, RX7, RX8, 300ZX, 280ZX, 240SX, etc..... then you have already figured out that the engine from the 370Z (a VQ37VHR) is a very complex and unique design. It uses 2 different ECU's to manage the engine. One is for the basic engine functions like timing and fuel and the other is ONLY to manage the VVEL (Variable Valve Lash).

The VVEL is controlled by a pair of electric motors. One on the back of each head. These motors turn concentric shafts inside the cylinder head that actually control ALL the air flow into the motor by controlling valve lift 100%.
There aren't any aftermarket EMS systems that are available to manage these components. So, we use the stock OEM EFI wiring harness and ECU from the donor vehicles.

The pictures included in this auction are very informative and explain EXACTLY what is needed for us to provide you with a "Universal" harness that can make the VQ37VHR run and drive in ANY vehicle (you do the mechanical work, obviously).

The 03+ Nissan vehicles use a technology called NATS (Nissan Anti-Theft System) to prevent people from stealing a Nissan vehicle. This system normally requires 3 ECU, the chipped ignition key, the ignition switch, and an RF modulator all to be programmed together using a Nissan Consult computer and software. The 08+ vehicles also added "Smart Key" technology where these vehicles only use a push-button start and no ignition switch at all. These are even more complex....
So, if you want to swap a VQ37VHR into your 240Z (for example) you would not only need each of these computers and components but you would also need each of the complete wiring harnesses that go to each of the components and you would need to install all of these parts into your 240Z and then supply power routing and grounds to each harness correctly on relays, etc..... WHAT A PAIN !!!!!!!!

We have eliminated all of that and made the process very simple for you! We can make the VQ37VHR run and drive in your car with ONLY the OEM harness to the engine, the ECU, VVEL module, and the accelerator pedal for drive-by-wire functionality (BTW... these will NOT run with a cable driven throttle body)!

This is what you need to send us:

  1. The VQ37VHR EFI wiring harness - COMPLETE and UN-CUT!!!!
  2. The VQ37VHR ECU
  3. The VQ37VHR VVEL module
  4. The VQ37VHR VVEL module sub-harness - COMPLETE and UN-CUT!!!!
  5. The 3rd connector to the VQ37VHR ECU from under the dash of a donor 370Z or G37
  6. An OBD2 connector from under the dash of a 370Z or G37 donor car (with approx 6" of harness - cut it off the dash harness)
  7. A 370Z or G37 accelerator pedal
  8. A 370Z or G37 accelerator pedal connector (with approx 6" of harness - cut it off the dash harness)
What we will do:
We will take all of your components that you send us and we will integrate them together and eliminate the circuits that are no longer needed as well as add the connectors together to the EFI harness so that the power supply routing will be accurate and the accelerator pedal harness will be long enough to reach the driver's side of the car. We will add the OBD2 connector to the EFI harness. We will add the VVEL module connector and set it up so that all you have to do is hook up 3 wires when you get it back. We will also add an Osiris ROM editor license to your ECU and then tune it. This tuning process is 100% NECESSARY in order to make the VQ37VHR run outside of the 370Z/G37 chassis. If we don't tune the ECU it will not run.

These are the 3 wires you will need to hook up in your chassis:
1- 12V switchable power (fused and on a relay)
1- straight ground to the battery
1- 12V switchable for the "Start" signal to starter

And that's it! That's all you have to do as far as the electrical wiring is concerned....

About the tune........
There are over 60 different things we need to do in the tune in order to make this swap work and the ECU to function correctly. That's right.... 60+ !!!!! it was NOT a misprint.
We also provide a performance tune which includes the following:
  1. Improved throttle response
  2. We tune for a pair of high flow air intake and filters
  3. We tune for a performance exhaust
  4. We raise your rev-limiter to 8100rpm (from 7700rpm)
  5. We eliminate the need for the ECU to see vehicle speed so there is no speed limiter like in the OEM chassis
  6. We shut off the need for the ECU to see the secondary O2 sensors (you DO NEED the primary O2 sensors)
  7. We shut off NATS
  8. and then there are a bunch of specific changes we need to make inside the ECU that is proprietary information and only works with how we wire the harness.

A few Q and A's.....

1. Can you use an automatic ECU in a manual swap?  Yes

2. Can you use a manual ECU in an automatic swap?  No

3. If you do your own wiring will we tune your ECU for you?

Yes, but you need to tell me EXACTLY what you want done within your ECU and we charge $500 for this service alone. Also, when you screw up your harness (because as smart as you are you are probably not going to even be close. It is a very complex harness that takes us about 4 days to do and we have been doing the VQ harnesses since 06) you will probably have to buy another Un-Cut VQ37VHR EFI harness for us to do it for you. We probably won't be able to use yours once you have cut into it. I am just waning you ahead of time. Don't say I never warned you... LOL!

4. Will we only provide the wiring because you have a friend that can do your ECU tuning for you?

Yes, but just know right now.... this has NEVER worked when anyone has ever opted for this. There are 60+ things that need to be done within the tune to make it work correctly.

5. Can my ECU be tuned later if I add a turbocharger or supercharger?  Yes, absolutely

6. Can you use an accelerator pedal from a 350Z or some earlier version Nissan vehicle?  No

7. Can you use a G37 ECU with a 370Z harness? Yes, absolutely

8. How long does it take Z-Fever to re-wire this harness? About 4 days once we start the wiring. However, we stay busy and sometimes it takes us several weeks to work YOUR harness into our schedule and actually start on it. We sometimes have 20-30 harnesses in our shop getting done. When your harness job comes in we put it in line and it gets a #. We do these "first in-first out"....

9. If I have Z-Fever do my harness and it doesn't start my engine is there any help for me? We test each and every harness we re-wire PRIOR to it leaving our facility to come to you. If it doesn't run in your car, it is NOT a harness or ECU failure. However, we are available M-F 9-6pm to help you with troubleshooting.

10. Can you make the VQ37VHR run in my 350Z or G35? Yes we can but that is an additional costs to make it a "plug-n-play" harness. About $250 more.

11. Will the gauges work in your 240Z, 240SX, 300ZX, 510, or any other pre-2003 vehicle when you install a VQ37VHR? No your speedo and tach will not work. This auction is for a "universal" harness only. In 03+ Nissan Vehicles we CAN make the gauges function. In pre-2003 vehicle we can't. Everything 03+ is CAN-BUS compliant where as older vehicles use sign wave and square wave signals to generate speedo and tach or older vehicles like the 240Z and 510 are either mechanical gauges or analogue.

12. Can Z-Fever do my entire VQ37VHR swap into my chassis... Why yes we can!

13. If I do most of my swap will Z-Fever do the harness and ECU install and get my car running for me? Yes

14. Can I buy all the harness components from Z-Fever because I can't find them and they didn't come with the swap I bought, Yes, absolutely but they cost extra.

15. Are all of the VQ37VHR harness, ECU, pedal, VVEL module, ect all included in this auction? NO, it is a re-wire "service" only. You send us the harness and components, we re-wire tham and send them back to you ready to install

16. If I have other questions what do I do? Call us at the phone # listed above in our logo. Ask for Doug!

Lastly, here is a video of the VQ37VHR running on the ground, no even in a chassis....

Thanks for checking out our auction
