Detail Description

Rebuild Kit for Bosch VE Diesel Injector Pumps. This will work for 1.5, 1.6L volkswagen injector pumps and will replace all of the major seals that tend to leak after 10 years.I have been soaking the seals in B100 Biodiesel for a few months and haven't seen any problems with the seals. The kit does not include a front seal. If you have a 1.9L pump, non-TDI, the kit will work for you. If you have a TDI pump, the seals won't work for you. This auction is only for the gasket kit.

If your pump is leaking from the rear seal, you can fix the leak with the pump on the car. You will need an assistant to hold the cast iron head onto the pump while you replace the seal. If you back out the bolts, but hold pressure on the internal springs, you can replace the rear seal without taking the pump apart. This can be done in 15 minutes, but be careful not to take tension off of the springs...

The front seal is available for $4.50 extra.

New shaft bearings are available for $7.95 for a set of 2. If your pump's front shaft has excessive play and is leaking out the front or causing your timing belt to ride off the sprocket, you need these bearings.
2 New glow plugs are available for $8.99 (for a set of 2). If you are removing your injector pump from your car, you might as well replace the 2 glow plugs behind it. The other 2 glow plugs can be changed easily at an time.

The new feed pump and new Rotor are available for $75 more. The feed pump is responsible for sucking the fuel into the injector pump. The rotor is responsible for generating the high pressure that is sent to the injectors. If your pump isn't working very well, the total rebuild kit should give your pump new life!

As a bonus, I am including a special adapter to remove the rounded triangular bolt on the side of the injector pumps (if you buy the feed pump).

You will need it to totally rebuild the pump.

Shipping is $5 for the gasket kit anywhere in the world. If you want the new feed pump and rotor and do not live in the US, the shipping cost is $12. Paypal also accepted.

Concept Car of the Week: Citroën Camargue (Bertone) 1972

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

Coachbuilder Bertone presented the Camargue at the 1972 Geneva Motor Show as a 2+2 coupe alternative to the quirky Citroën GS hatchback. Named after the coastal region in the south of France, the Camargue was aimed to appeal to a young trend-conscious target audience. Penned by Marcello Gandini, the silhouette remained undoubtedly Citroën with a long overhang at the front, short at the rear and a long, sloping roofline.

Saab unable to pay wages as financing crisis deepens

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

Saab's money troubles have worsened to the point that the struggling car maker is unable to pay its employees' wages on the eve of the Swedish mid-summer vacation period. In a brief official statement last night, Saab's parent company Swedish Automobile N.V (formerly Spyker Cars) announced that it was 'will be unable to pay the wages to employees as it has not yet obtained the necessary short-term funding.'  While Swedish Automobile and Saab continue to pursue options for securing short-term financing to solve the cashflow crisis, the company admitted 'there can however be no assurance that these discussions will be successful or that the necessary funding will be obtained.' Saab share prices tumble, Swedish government will not intervene Reaction to the worsening financial crisis from stakeholders has been predictably bleak. Swedish Automobile's shares dropped 61% in value yesterday, and are currently trading at 0.948 euro. The Swedish government, already guaranteeing a €400m loan to Saab by the European Investment Bank, shows no inclination to bail-out Saab, which employs 3800 staff.
