Many or all R107 / W107 SL convertible owners have gone through numerous sun visor clips. I understand this is a big issue for all r107 / W107's. First, you cannot purchase a male visor clip from the dealer; Any aftermarket visor clips are "acceptable," because there has been no other choice. Either you purchase an aftermarket clip or purchase a complete visor from the dealer, which retails from $430.00-$760.00, each, depending on the year and model of your car. Aftermarket parts are made very simply & CHEAP weak, plastic materials; Hence, they are made incorrectly. So far, so good.First of all, the male visor clips were made with a groove on the inside of the cylinder opening. The rod has an "opening" which is made to lock-in with the groove on the inside of the clip's cylinder opening. This was designed to keep your visor in one position at all times. The CHEAP aftermarket clips are not made this way. They are only made with an opening, but no groove fitting inside.
