Fri, 29 Aug 2014Aston Martin flies the new Lagonda to Muscat with Oman Air Back in July, Aston Martin confirmed the revival of Lagonda with a short run of a Lagonda Super Saloon to be sold exclusively in the Middle East. At that time, all we had was a dark photo showing the new Lagona’s silhouette but now, as Aston start to test the new Lagonda, we get a proper photo (above and below). The photo of the new Lagonda shows its arrival in Muscat – courtesy of Oman Air – as the new Lagonda is flown out to Oman to begin its testing.
Audi RS7 to lap Hockenheim – DRIVERLESS
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Audi are taking an RS7 round Hockenheim completely autonomously Every car maker – from Mercedes to Volvo and Ford – is working hard to make autonomous driving a reality, and it looks like we’re just a few years away from seeing cars being driven by computers, with the driver relegated to passenger in many daily driving tasks. Now it’s Audi’s turn to demonstrate the progress they’re making with autonomous technology by taking an RS7 round the Grand Prix track at Hockenheim without a driver having control. It’s arguable that taking a driverless car round a track – even at race speed – is far less of a technological task than having a car running driverless through a cityscape with all its variables, but it’s an impressive demonstration nonetheless.
Worrying insurance fraud trends revealed
Fri, 16 May 2014AS MANY as two million motorists could be jeopardising their insurance by listing themselves as the main driver on a car that someone else covers more mileage in. The process, known as ‘fronting’, secures a cheaper insurance quote for the real main driver, who in many cases is young or has less no-claims discount, but it is illegal and could completely invalidate the policy and leave the drivers vulnerable to prosecution. Research from Privilege car insurance has revealed not only that the two million drivers could be risking more than they imagine, but also that around one million motorists are named as the main driver on insurance policies for cars they have never even driven at all.
