You are bidding on a Brand New Premium Lightweight Wilwood Inboard Sprint Car Brake Kit with a Polymetallic Titanium Rotor (WIL Part #140-9751).

  • DynaPro (DP) Inboard Brake System with Polymetallic Titanium Rotor
  • A fully engineered bolt-on brake system for Sprint Car Quickchange rear ends with 3.00" x 46 splined axles
  • Sprint racing's lightest .810" vented disc and a newly designed dynamic mount rotor axle clamp give the lowest rotating weights available
  • The lightweight advantages of the Titanium rotor are fortified with the high durability, long wear, & superior heat control properties of advanced Polymetallic Coating Technology
  • Forged Billet DynaPro Radial Mount calipers with Composite Metallic pads produce superior stopping power & consistent fade-free response

Component Features:

  • Dynapro Forged Billet Radial Mount Caliper:
    • Computer FEA designed & fully CNC machined billet forgings are unmatched for rigidity, strength, & resistance to body separation and deflection under load
    • Four 1.750' stainless steel pistons generate high clamping force and balanced pad loading with high resistance to corrosion and slower heat transfer than carbon steel or aluminum pistons
    • Quick-clip pad retainers give quick and easy access for pad inspection or service without the need for tools or caliper removal
    • Radial mounting assures secure caliper attachment without deflection to the rear axle side bell.  Two planes of adjustment provide precise lateral & radial alignment of the caliper and pads over the rotor
    • Sprint loaded SRS bridge plates dampen vibration and engagement harmonics while reducing bridge wear from gouging by the brake pad backing plate
    • Internal fluid passages eliminate all external fluid transfer tube problems
    • Side Inlet fluid ports simplify the plumbing and four corner bleed screws guarantee effective gas evacuation from both sides in all mounting positions
  • Poly Metallic Titanium 10.50" x .810" Vented Rotor:
    • Sprint racing's lightest .810" rotor weighs only 2.37 lbs.
    • The drilled, slotted, & scalloped design with 24 cooling vanes provides excellent high temperature stability, rapid heat dissipation, and consistent performance from the brake pads
    • A microscopic layer of hard, high-density Polymetallic elements is bonded into the surface to add high resistance to wear & exceptional thermal control properties to the Titanium base
    • The fine micro-finish surface beds quickly with new pads.  It provides quick response, long service life from the pads, & consistent braking at all temperatures
    • Lowered rotating weight promotes quick acceleration, deceleration, & improved handling
    • In addition to decreasing the effects of driveline inertia during deceleration, the small diameter rotor increases the clearance between the fuel cell and other chassis elements during suspension travel
  • Composition Metallic Compound Brake Pads:
    • Composition Metallic coumpound pads are specially formulated for use with advanced Polymetallic coating technology
    • Track proven 7816-CM pads provide immediate response, high friction, long wear, & fade-free performance at all temperatures
  • Axle Clamp with Dynamic Mount Rotor Adapter:
    • Weighing only 1.07 lbs, this is the lightest weight axle clamp and floating rotor mount kit available
    • The splined clamp maintains a fixed position on the axle and the slotted adapter plate allows the rotor to "float" on T-Nuts at the mounting points
    • Stresses and distortion from thermal expansion that can lead to component fatigue and harsh pedal feedback to the driver are virtually eliminated.  A small margin of lateral float keeps the rotor centered between the pads to assure a complete release and no drag during acceleration
    • Dynamic mounting is the most effective method of eliminating all types of thermal stress & distortion in steel rotor applications.  This rotor is machined with mounting slots that are used with special "t-nuts" & bolt kits.  This mounting system allows the rotor to expand & contract independently of the mounting hat or hub as the rotor goes through temperature changes.  This eliminates all strain or bind at the mounting points.  The rotor runs truer, lasts longer, & all undo stress on the hats or hubs is eliminated.  Dynamic mounting is preferred in all applications where temporary, but extreme temperature spikes may cause high expansion rates in the steel
  • Radial Mount Bracket & Hardware
    • Machined billet caliper brackets girdle the mounting bosses on the side bell to provide a sturdy and deflection-free attachment point for the caliper
    • Caliper height can be shimmed for precise alignment between the outside pad radius and outside diameter of the rotor
    • Radial mounting simplifies caliper and rotor service by eliminating the need to remove the bracket or mounting bolts from the side bell
    • High strength steel studs, lock nuts, mount bolts, washers, and alignment shims are included to complete an accurate & secure installtion

Fuel prices 'rising again'

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

THE AUTUMN dip in petrol prices failed to stimulate sales and the cost of filling up is rising again, according to the AA. Drivers in small market and coastal towns are particularly suffering from high prices, with the dearest petrol found in East Anglia and Wales, the AA said. It added that between mid November and mid December, the average UK price of petrol rose from 130.44p a litre to 131.17p, while diesel increased from 137.78p to 138.61p.

Building a business around Alfa lust

Fri, 23 Jul 2010

In a low-key industrial complex just north of Detroit sits a trove of 1960s and '70s Alfa Romeos. To describe it as a “treasure” trove doesn't quiet fit, because in the words of owner Richard Davisson, the Italian icons are “everything from pathetic to just about done.” Several of the dozen or so cars are gorgeous. Most are interesting.

Treasures from West Germany lurk at Sonoma Raceway

Fri, 04 Apr 2014

In my role of Chief Justice of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court, I travel to Sonoma Raceway, aka Sears Point, at least twice per year. Most of the time I'm there, I'm stuck disciplining miscreant racers with incomprehensible penalties, but every so often I slip away in my Race Organizer Review car to shoot some action photos of the competitors. A good area for shooting LeMons cars is from the access road that runs parallel to the track between turn 10 and turn 11, and getting there takes me past an area of shops and garages… and I always spot some interesting cars parked there.
