 Forged Narrow Dynapro

Lug Mount Brake Caliper

Narrow Mount DynaPro (NDP) forged billet calipers represent the next generation of calipers available as an upgrade or direct replacement for the popular Narrow Mount Dynalite model series with 3.50" mounting. NDP calipers combine superior strength with several new performance enhancements to make these the best "Dyna" series calipers ever built.

The strength of the new DynaPro is a combination of process and design. NDP calipers are stress-flow forged from premium grade billet. Stress-flow forging realigns the grain structure of the metal within the contour of the body design. This process produces a part with superior strength over parts simply machined from straight grained blocks of billet. The FEA generated body design incorporates a highly fortified radial transition that eliminates steps and shoulders between the piston housings and the bridges.

Incorporating a radius in this critical area substantially increases resistance to deflection and caliper body separation under load. For additional strength, all NDP calipers are fitted with center bridge bolts to provide additional resistance against separation over the center of the pads. Structural deflection and volume displacement testing have proven the efficiency of this innovative design. Reductions in overall deflection, and the subsequent decreases in fluid volume displacement, translate to increased clamping efficiency with less pedal travel. The bottom line is a firm, responsive pedal with outstanding stopping power.

Jaguar C-X17 concept (2013) design boss Ian Callum on interior design

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

As with all concept cars, the Jaguar C-X17’s interior is the least production-viable element of the entire design, but it does give vital clues to the direction that design boss Ian Callum and his team are evaluating for the future. The focus is on clean, strong, flowing design, one that shuns clutter for pared-back simplicity. Open the door and you’ll notice both the sense of space and the small F-type steering wheel and four individual bucket seats, the latter two elements suggesting a nimble, involving driving experience.

Bluebird Electric aiming for UK Land Speed Record

Mon, 18 Jul 2011

Bluebird Electric You’d hope that anyone of any age would associate ‘Bluebird’ with ‘Campbell’, but as many of our schools don’t seem too keen on anything that may be even remotely considered part of Britain’s history, perhaps not. So we’ll just throw in that Sir Malcolm Campbell drove a variety of Bluebird (or Blue Bird) cars to new land speed records on Pendine Sands in the 1920s and his son, Donald Campbell, matched his father’s achievements with world speed records on both land and water – the only man to have held land and water speed records at the same time. And he too used the Bluebird moniker for his record-breaking transport of choice. Fast forward the best part of fifty years and it’s the grandson of Sir Malcolm – Don Wales – who’s plotting to take the Bluebird Electric to a new UK Land Speed Record, and planning to make a start on that quest at Pendine Sands (a location Top Gear fans will probably recognise – and was it Pendine Sands on the new Torchwood series last week?).

Is the V8 a dying breed? Auto engineers expect more turbos, smaller engines

Tue, 21 Apr 2009

The V8 engine, a symbol of power and prestige for more than a century, is looking more and more like an endangered species. A panel of powertrain experts speaking on Tuesday at the 2009 SAE World Congress painted a bleak picture for big engines in this era of tightening emission standards and volatile fuel prices. But smaller engines will not mean drivers have to give up performance.
