Land Rover begins production of the Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover started production of its Range Rover Evoque on Monday, as the first production vehicle was driven off the line at Land Rover's U.K. Halewood plant in Liverpool. "The Evoque is an incredibly exciting vehicle that joins a product range which across both of our brands is the strongest we have ever had--and it fits in perfectly," Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth said in a statement.

Lamborghini Gallardo (2012) new Spyder and Super Trofeo racer

Lamborghini has pulled the wraps off a facelifted version of the Gallardo Spyder, just a couple of weeks after showing the restyled coupe at the 2012 Paris motor show. We've also been given our first look at the revamped Super Trofeo racer, which gets similar styling tweaks and an improved aero package. First up, the facelifted soft-top Lambo Or, to give the car its full moniker, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder.

Satoshi Wada, former Senior Designer at Audi AG and Nissan Design Japan, is set to open his own design studio. Called SWdesign TOKYO, his ambitious plan follows on from a growing line of design managers who have left successful OEMs to establish their own design practices. Wada, who resigned from Audi AG in Ingolstadt earlier this month, told CDN he is aiming "to create a new vision with my own independent design studio in Tokyo".
