New Mexican Supercar company to launch VUHL 05 at Goodwood FoS

A new track-focused, road-legal supercar from Mexican manufacturer Vuhl – the VUHL o5 – will launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Supercar companies spring up all over the place with men in sheds thinking they can take on established supercar makers and take a part of the supercar market in the process. Most fail to get beyond CAD renderings of their dream, but a new Supercar company from Mexico – Vuhl – has the help of established automotive industry names like Ford and Magna Steyr, and they’re promising to reveal their new car – the VUHL 05 – at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.

Porsche says 1952 356 Cabriolet is oldest one sold in the U.S.

A 1952 Porsche 356 cabriolet owned by Robert Wilson of Oklahoma City, Okla., has been named the winner of a contest to find the oldest Porsche sold in America. Porsche Cars North America ran the contest, which asked owners to submit documentation showing when their cars were first sold, as part of its celebration of 60 years of selling cars in the United States. Wilson's car, which he found in a salvage yard, was imported in November 1952 by Max Hoffman, who started bringing Porsches to the United States in 1950.

David Hilton has been appointed Head of Exterior Design for Bentley Motors, based in the UK. The super-luxury brand – owned by the Volkswagen Group – is headed by CEO Wolfgang Durheimer, who is also in charge of Bugatti design development. US-born Hilton replaces Raul Pires in Crewe, Cheshire, after he left Bentley at the end of 2011 to join VW-owned Italdesign.
