That performance will no doubt help Hamilton’s state of mind as he battles Rosberg for the drivers championship, but he still has a mountain to climb as Mercedes’ sanctions on Rosberg don’t include a ‘resting’ race to level the playing field. Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid gets 108 MPGe

Ford Motor Company announced that its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid achieves an EPA-certified 108 miles-per-gallon-equivalent (MPGe) city and 100 MPGe combined. The rating makes the C-Max Energi the most efficient plug-in hybrid by MPG-e according to the listings on the Environmental Protection Agency Web site. The only vehicles to rank higher were the all-electric 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV with a combined MPGe of 112, and the 2012 Ford Focus EV with 110 MPGe.

LTU students design SRG Global-branded vehicle

Lawrence Technological University's (LTU) Daniel Kangas has received a Coach Builder Design Award after winning a semester-long design competition. The contest – sponsored by chrome-plated plastic parts manufacturer SRG Global – challenged LTU students to design a SRG Global-branded vehicle that incorporated the company's products, as well as future technologies and trends. Kangas' design will be developed into SRG Global's virtual car to be used on the company's website and mobile apps to showcase its products and finishes.
