The new VW Golf R has been revealed and it’s the fastest version of the iconic hatch ever. The all-wheel drive flagship Golf now has 296bhp, up from 267bhp, with its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive sending the six-speed DSG version from 0-62mph in a feisty 4.9sec – matching the BMW M135i, but still shy of the Mercedes A45 AMG, which cracks it in 4.6sec. Why would I buy this over a Golf GTI?

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX gets the wide-body look of the STI

The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX will look more like the WRX STI model by adopting the STI's wide-body look, including a wide track front and rear, and wider tires. The front and rear tracks of the 2011 WRX are 1.5 inches wider, compared with the 2010 model. Wheel diameter remains at 17 inches, but the wheels get an inch wider at 8 inches.

Ford Motor Company Fund expands driver-education program for teens

Driving Skills for Life (DSFL), a free program sponsored by the Ford Motor Company Fund to teach teen drivers safe driving skills, will be coming to 31 more cities this year as part of the DSFL national high-school tour and community program. New sites for the clinic include Albany, N.Y.; Louisville, Ky.; Atlanta; Phoenix, and Boston. “There is nothing more important than the safety of our young people on the road,” said Jim Graham, manager of DSFL.
