2013 Formula Sun Grand Prix will race at Circuit of the Americas
Mon, 11 Feb 2013With sunnier months just around the corner, Circuit of the Americas has revealed that it will provide the venue for the June 24-29 Formula Sun Grand Prix. The Formula Sun grand prix is a qualifying race for teams interested in racing their solar-powered cars in the American Solar Challenge. The Challenge allows competitors from around the world to operate a solar-powered-car race team.
CAFE standard set at 54.5 mpg by 2025
Wed, 29 Aug 2012The final version of the new corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standard was released today and, as expected, automakers will need to attain a fleet average of 54.5 mpg by 2025. The rules include electric and hybrid vehicles and—as of today—natural gas vehicles. The Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration proposed the rules in November, after reaching an agreement with automakers last July.
