Charity Drag Race Redefines The Meaning Of Fast

TAKE one airport runway and a Formula One car and it’s not hard to work out what happens next. In the case of the annual Race the Runway event held at Edinburgh airport, driving flat out in a Formula One car produced some interesting numbers. Run by and benefiting the Prince and Princes of Wales Hospice in Glasgow, event invites owners of high performance cars – not just Formula One machines – to participate in a series of drag races in return for a donation to the Hospice.

'Defective tyre' prosecutions top 10,000

MORE THAN 170 motorists were convicted every week in 2012 for driving on defective or even dangerous tyres. The figures, obtained by tyre safety charity TyreSafe as part of its efforts to improve awareness during Tyre Safety Month, show that 10,228 drivers were taken to court over their tyres. As rain becomes a more regular fixture for most motorists up and down the country, following an unusually dry summer, tyre tread depth and pressure become even more important.

Suzuki unveils 2010 Kizashi sedan

It's official. Suzuki confirmed its next midsize sedan will be called the Kizashi, and it is set to launch in the United States at the end of this year. The company pulled the cover off the production version of the Kizashi on Thursday.
