A14 expansion 'could break emissions laws'

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

PLANS for tackling congestion on a busy A-road could leave the Government in breach of legal limits for air pollution, according to the Campaign for Better Transport (CBT). The CBT is warning that the Government's £1.5 billion A14 corridor in East Anglia would not only significantly worsen air pollution across a wide area; it could actually push a number of locations above current EU legal limits. The Government's proposal to tackle congestion within the A14 corridor includes widening parts of the A14 and the A1 and building a new dual carriageway around Huntingdon.

McLaren: The dealer network takes shape

Fri, 21 May 2010

The McLaren dealer network is starting to take shape Most of what we’ve written about McLaren in the last month or two hasn’t been about the new McLaren – the McLaren MP4 12C – but about McLaren’s venerable hypercar the McLaren F1. Firts we had Ron Dennis telling anyone who’d listen – quite rightly – that the showdown Top Gear staged between the Mac and the Bug had to be re-run repeatedly until the Bug actually won, but Ron being Ron had to go a step further and proclaim the Veyron a ‘Piece of Junk’. But it made his point.

Max Wolff to become Design Director at Lincoln

Thu, 02 Dec 2010

Ford's luxury nameplate, Lincoln, is set to welcome a new design director, the first dedicated design director for the brand. The role will be filled by former GM designer Max Wolff, who will head the design team in the new year.  Until Wolff's appointment, Peter Horbury and Moray Callum, Ford's Executive Director of Design, The Americas, oversaw Lincoln-Mercury designs – the two brands were paired before Ford decided to kill off Mercury earlier this year. While Gerry McGovern headed Lincoln-Mercury design for a brief period before becoming director of Advanced Design at Land Rover in 2004, Lincoln itself has never had a design director dedicated solely to the brand.  Wolff brings with him extensive global perspective and luxury design experience; his most recent role was with Cadillac, where he was head of exteriors.
