Ford Focus RS500 (2010) first official pictures

This is the new Ford Focus RS500, a special limited edition version of the Blue Oval’s mad Focus RS hot hatch with 15% more power. For a start there’s that extra power. Thanks to a larger air-to-air intercooler, a bigger air filter and a wider diameter exhaust downpipe (plus a new ECU to take advantage of the mechanical changes) peak power is up from 301bhp to 345lb ft at 6000rpm, while torque climbs from 325lb ft to 339lb ft. The result is a 5.6sec 0-62mph time (down three-tenths) while the top speed climbs two notches to 165mph.

BMW are adding xDrive as an option across the 5 Series GT range We really don’t ‘Get’ the BMW 5 Series GT. To be fair, we haven’t driven one so it’s a viewpoint from afar. Perhaps top of the list is the new model Range Rover – the Range Rover Hybrid - which is currently busy driving down the Silk Trail to India and promises the same sort of performance as the TDV8 but with economy that betters the 3.0 litre TDV6. The hybrid version of the Range Rover will also be joined by a hybrid version of the new Range Rover Sport, with 44.1mpg and emissions of 169g/km making the Range Rover and Sport a more appealing BIK option.
