Scion XB/XA Toyota Echo cylinder block. Good used condition, has about 120,000 miles on it. Needs to be hot tanked. The deck should be level and the cylinder walls should be within spec. Lotus Evora S GP Edition: Lotus evokes its GP history
Wed, 12 Oct 2011Lotus Evora S GP Edition - just 3 being built. There was a time when the tobacco giants were seemingly single-handedly responsible for sports sponsorship, and perhaps the most evocative memory of that is the John Player Special F1 cars from Lotus. And now they’re back – in a sense – with the Lotus Evora S GP Edition.
Saab gets a ray of hope from China
Sun, 11 Sep 2011Victor Muller sees a glimpse of sunshine from China The saga that is the long and painful demise of Saab seemed to reach its nadir last week when courts in Sweden refused to offer the beleaguered car maker sanctuary in its protection. We thought that would be the end for Saab – despite a never-say-die appeal of the decision by Victor Muller, due to be heard tomorrow – with nowhere left to hide from trade supplier debts of €150 million, and the wrath of Sweden’s unions ready to file for Saab’s bankruptcy over unpaid wages for Saab employees. The nadir for Saab should reasonably be followed by its rapid consignment to the annuls of motoring history, but a tiny glimmer of hope has risen from Saab’s putative investors in China.
CAR tech: Audi's miracle e-fuel (2013)
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Global warming; sky-high oil prices as reserves peak; spiralling crop prices and intense pressure to find fertile land – society faces immense challenges, as it strives to protect the planet and keep our cars on the move. Audi is working on a miracle fuel that could help mitigate these problems, in a facility under construction in the uncompromising, scorching environment of New Mexico, USA. Not content with having a range more diverse than London’s World Pride parade, Audi is moving into the fuels business, in partnership with US biotech firm Joule Unlimited. The pair are developing carbon-neutral synthetic fuels, called e-fuels in keeping with Audi’s E-tron eco brand.
