Sacked Morgan boss Charles Morgan is to set up new sports car company that he says will rival the 104-year-old British car manufacturer that bears his family name and recently dismissed him. In a report in the Telegraph, Charles is quoted as saying his new company will “build on the innovation and heritage of my grandfather”. Fiat Abarth 695 Maserati Edition joins Mille Miglia

Fiat is taking its Abarth 695 Maserati Edition, which we first saw in Geneva, to the famous Mille Miglia 1,000-mile race. The company is only producing 499 examples of the special edition. It will be displayed at Piazza della Loggia in Brescia, Italy, in conjunction with the race.

Hyper-miler Gerhard Plattner with the 127mpg Skoda Fabia GreenLine That rings a bell, we thought. A guy called Gerhard Plattner doing mega-miles in a Skoda. And then we remembered that two years ago the same guy managed to average 100mpg on  a trip in a SEAT Ibiza ECOMOTIVE between Barcelona to Germany.
