Ferrari 458 Speciale: Frankfurt 2013
Wed, 11 Sep 2013The Ferrari 458 Speciale (pictured) unveiled at Frankfurt Ferrari probably won the crown at the Geneva Motor Show in March with LaFerrari as ‘Star Car’, so whatever they brought to Frankfurt would be a bit of a let down. But at least they brought something new. McLaren P1
Thu, 14 Feb 2013McLaren has revealed the first interior images of the production-ready P1 ahead of its debut in Geneva next month. The interior was hidden with heavily tinted windows in Paris, but these pictures show a sparse cabin with a considerable amount of carbon fiber on display. The woven wonder stuff is used for the dashboard, floor, pillars, doors and rockers while a single piece is shaped for the center stack.
BMW's new 5-series next for hybrid power
Wed, 28 Oct 2009The new BMW 5-series being launched this winter is likely to be the next BMW to receive the ActiveHybrid system pioneered on the petrol-electric 7-series and X6 models. BMW engineers admit they can't rely on sales of the pricey hybrid 7-series and X6 to justify the development costs, even though these range-topping halo hybrids were jointly developed with Daimler and GM. Senior sources have indicated that the new 2010 5-series will be the next BMW to get an ActiveHybrid model.
