Designed by Italian coachbuilder Magvisio, the Ferruccio was a rebodied Murcielago LP640 and would have been faster than any current car wearing the Lamborghini badge, with a claimed top speed of 230mph. Although not an official Lamborghini project, Sant'Agata was monitoring the scheme ‘with interest’, according to its creators.Magvisio specialises in customisation jobs for private clients, and the Ferruccio was to be its first stab at designing a car from the ground up.
U.S. seeks 5 percent annual fuel-economy gains through 2016
Tue, 15 Sep 2009The Obama administration today proposed gasoline mileage and greenhouse-gas pollution standards for new vehicles for model years 2012 to 2015, filling in the blanks for manufacturers en route to a 35.5 mpg national target in 2016. The Transportation Department and EPA proposal calls for fuel economy to increase by about 5 percent each year, starting from an average of 27.3 mpg for the 2011 model year, the agencies said in a statement. The average car buyer would save more than $3,000 in fuel costs over the life of a vehicle, the statement said.
Cadillac ATS to get turbo power
Wed, 14 Dec 2011Cadillac has given us a sneak peek at the engine lineup that will power the 2013 ATS sedan set to bow in January at the Detroit auto show. The spotlight powerplant is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It uses a twin-scroll setup for a broad torque range.
