    • The IS 300 featured an AM/FM radio with a cassette player. It also had an in-dash, six-CD disc changer with auto-change capability. The CD changer was a single-feed system, which means all discs were put into the same slot.

    Output

    • The Lexus Premium Sound System produced 240 watts of stereo output. The vehicle had eight speakers.

    Other Features

    • A radio data system allowed users to see what song titles and artists were being played by radio stations. The Premium Sound System used a diversity antenna system, with two antennas in different places on the vehicle. The system automatically chooses which antenna is receiving a better radio signal and uses that one.

NHTSA announces Kia, Hyundai recalls

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday that Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling almost 60,000 Kia Spectras from the 2004-2007 model years because of fuel-tank straps that can corrode over time. According to NHTSA, one or both straps can break, letting the tank drop to the ground.

Consumer Reports: No to Chevrolet SUV, Ford crossovers, MyFord Touch

Consumer Reports said Monday it will not recommend the Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers because of low scores in the magazine's tests, and panned Ford Motor Co.'s MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch technology. The magazine also said it will not recommend the Infiniti QX56, a V8 version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Porsche Cayenne. Those SUVs performed well in testing but were too new for the magazine to have adequate reliability data to recommend, it said.
