Mini Vision concept: what does it say about the brand's future?

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

The sight of Mini design head Anders Warming presenting a holographic, 3D projection of the Mini Vision concept as if appearing in his own cartoon was certainly a new one on us, but it captured the quirky, slightly left-field image the subsidiary of BMW Group has cultivated since its relaunch 13 years ago. As the 'Vision' tag suggests, this is billed as a marker of intent for the brand's future design direction rather than a pre-production teaser of the new Mini hatchback (Cooper in most markets) we'll see later this year. Volkswagen prices 2014 Passat 1.8T

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Volkswagen is debuting a new engine in its U.S. lineup, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injected TSI engine known internally as EA888, and the first car to receive it will be the 2014 Volkswagen Passat. The Passat will stay the same on the outside for the 2014 model year, but the new 1.8-liter engine promises to deliver as much power as the outgoing 2.5-liter engine it is replacing, 170 hp, while gaining seven more lb-ft of torque for a total of 184 lb-ft.

2015 Audi Q3 is coming to America with 200 hp

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Audi has been selling the Q3 crossover overseas for a few years now, but it is set to make its United States debut at the Detroit auto show before hitting dealerships this fall. The 2015 Audi Q3 will complement the new A3 lineup, which includes a sedan, cabriolet and sportback, while expanding the automaker’s luxury crossover/SUV stable. The Q3 will get power from Audi’s workhorse 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, making 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque in this application.
