Set of 4 wheels and winter tires with tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) sensors for 2010 Mazda Speed3 (may fit other models but I make no claims as suitability on anything other than a 2010 Mazda Speed3)


I bought the wheel and tire set from Ralph Thayer Mazda in Livonia, MI when I bought my Speed3 new in 2010.  The wheels appear to be stock Mazda OEM wheels possibly from a standard Mazda 3.  The tires are 205/55 R17 General Altimax Arctic winter tires.  The parts guy said they have a very similar tread pattern as the Blizzak model but were cheaper.  The dealer installed the TPMS sensors on the wheels and I have never had a problem with the sensor light coming on with these wheels, except when the tire pressure would get low.

The wheels are in good shape, some stone chips, no curb rash.  The wheels have been painted gray by the dealer.  They look ok but you can tell they have been painted, (e.g. not flawless like the summer OEM rims)

The tires are near perfect.  I can't really detect any signs of wear.  My car has 44k miles.  I ran the tires from mid/late December to end of February - mid of March each year, so I estimate they have about 10,000 miles on them.  I marked the rims each spring and rotated the tires each winter.

The tires have never been plugged or repaired in any way (no fix a flat inside) and are balanced as they came form the dealer

Corvette Central: Revamped C7, radical mid-engined C8 in GM's plans

General Motors is mulling a radical re-engineering for the Chevrolet Corvette, centered on a more fuel-efficient, mid-engined V6 powertrain, a lightweight alloy body and a more compact footprint. The idea is to re-energize GM's ambition for the Corvette, with fundamental changes that will make it into a contemporary global supercar. The changes are penciled into GM's product plan for the next major model change, the C8, with an on-sale date around 2016.

Saab signs deal with second China partner

Saab has agreed to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co. taking an equity stake in the company as part of a distribution and manufacturing joint venture. Saab and its owner Spyker Cars NV signed a deal with Chinese car distributor Pang Da in May worth up to 110 million euros that involved setting up a joint venture with Spyker and a partner in China to start making Saabs in China within two years.
