Does this Code Scanner work on my car?
This OBD2 Code Scanner is designed to work on all OBD2 compliant vehicles. It is required by Federal Law that all 1996 and newer vehicles (cars and light trucks) sold in the United States and Canada must be OBD2 compliant and this includes all Domestic, Asian and European vehicles.

Some 1994 and 1995 model year vehicles are also OBD2 compliant. To verify if your vehicle is OBD2 compliant or not, check the Vehicle Emissions Control Information Label which is usually located under the hood or by the radiator. If the vehicle is OBD2 compliant, the label will state "OBD II Certified". Besides, all OBD2 compliant vehicles must have a 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) which is usually located under the instrument panel of the vehicle.

 How to use?
  1. Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
  2. Connect the Code Scanner to the 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.
  4. Press the READ button to retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Car Designers Blackmailed

    Tue, 12 Feb 2008

A London court has found former design student Guy Lloyd-Parker guilty of blackmailing US car designers. The London College of Fashion graduate had claimed that 95 car design sketches were stolen from him by two college lecturers in 1994, eventually resurfacing as final designs in the form of the Audi TT, BMW Z3, Mazda RX-8 and the Volvo XC90. Lloyd-Parker, having failed to successfully sue the college, began sending menacing letters to California-based Volvo Design Director Geza Loczi, former BMW and Aston Martin designer Henrik Fisker, and ex-Mazda designer Tsutomu Matano demanding £90,000.

Renault Captur Compact SUV production version teased

    Tue, 08 Jan 2013

Renault has started the tease for their Clio Crossover – likely the Renault Captur – ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The booming market for compact crossovers to blat round our congested urban landscape sees car maker scrabbling to offer up a product that can take the fight to cars like the Nissan Juke, and Renault’s offering in the market will arrive at the Geneva Motor Show in March – the Renault Captur. Before you get too excited, the production version of the Renault Captur appears to have little in common with the Captur Concept we saw at Geneva in 2011 – except for the name – and looks likely to be nothing more than a high-riding Clio 4 with added butchness.

Porsche buyers put the brakes on stop-start technology

    Mon, 23 Jun 2008

By Chris Chilton Motor Industry 23 June 2008 18:56 Direct injection and a clever new PDK dual-clutch gearbox have cemented the new 911’s reputation as the greenest performance car around, but Porsche engineers are being hampered from making the iconic sports car even cleaner by the public’s reluctance to accept further green technology Engineers at the launch of the facelifted 911 told CAR that fitting a BMW-style start-stop system could chop a further 10g/km from the Carrera’s 225g/km CO2 rating but that performance car buyers weren’t keen on having such overtly planet-conscious tech on their cars. Start-stop works by cutting the engine when the car’s stationary in traffic, and restarting automatically when you touch the pedals to move off again. Every manual transmission-equipped BMW 1-series comes with the technology, excepting the truly high performance versions.
