Which meant we got plenty of detail and lots of photos. The details, as you would expect from Mercedes, were pretty comprehensive and the photos were certainly plentiful – more than 100 of them – if a little ‘cold’.

The ‘Old Pang’ bit isn’t our derogatory name for the head of China’s Pang Da – who are busy getting in to bed with Saab – but is how the Beijing Times referred to Pang Da boss Pang Qing Hua on his return from Saab; ’Old Pang Returns from Sweden’, they said. We have no idea how old Pang Qing Hua is, but he’s old enough to have amassed a few bob from owning a huge car distribution network in China, and is flush with cash from a recent floating.
UK car production down 20%
Thu, 20 Mar 2014CAR PRODUCTION slowed a little last month, according to official figures. A total of 133,730 cars were made in the UK in February - 2.7% fewer than in February 2013, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said. Cars made for the export market rose 3.5% last month, but manufacturing for the home market was down 20.8%.
