2014 BMW X5 35d spotted high-altitude testing

That's what happened here as eagle-eyed reader Todd H. caught up with a test-fleet 2014 BMW X5 35d diesel making the high-altitude test rounds in Colorado.

Its 102.8mpg (UK) claim puts the current Jazz Hybrid’s figure of 62.8mpg in the shade, as well as that of the Toyota Yaris Hybrid with 81.0mpg. It will be shown at the Frankfurt motor show this September before arriving in UK showrooms in 2014.
Jaguar C-X75: Jaguar’s Hypercar stillborn
Tue, 11 Dec 2012The Jaguar C-X75 hybrid hypercar will not go in to production. Jaguar cite the poor economic outlook is behind the decision to scrap the C-X75. But the gas turbines soon bit the dust as Jaguar realised the technology was just not mature enough for a production car, so they replaced the gas turbines with a 1.6 litre turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine charging the batteries that powered the two electric motors, one on each axle.
