There are less than two weeks left for European design students to submit their exterior entry to the Car Design News - Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design competition. The competition, which closes to entries on Friday February 11th, asks students to design a lounge exterior, based around the design of one of the three finalists of the interior competition. Camaro Z/28 Indy 500 pace car revealed by Chevrolet

Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the pace car for the 98th running of the Indianapolis 500: It'll be the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Veteran race car driver Dario Franchitti will be piloting the Camaro Z/28 around the track on race day, May 25. 2014 will mark the eighth time that a Camaro has been chosen as the official pace car for the race, with 1967 being the first time that a Camaro has lead the pack around the course.

Saab secures more funds as it seeks to avert collapse

Saab parent Swedish Automobiles has found another financial lifeline in China as the struggling carmaker faces possible legal action from unions over unpaid wages. In a statement this morning, Swedish Automobiles announced that an un-named Chinese firm has placed an order for 582 Saab vehicles, valued at 13 million Euro (£11.5m) with full pre-payment 'expected to be made this week'.  Saab plans to use the funds to pay wages and begin partial payments to component suppliers in order to restart production.
