Mon, 23 Apr 2012Skoda Rapid debuts in Beijing The new Skoda Rapid – a new Skoda to sit between the Fabia and Octavia – has been previewed at the Beijing Motor Show. Skoda revealed the MissionL Concept at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show which neatly filled a gap in the Skoda range between the Fabia and the Octavia. And now it’s turning in to a production model – the Skoda Rapid.

Wed, 08 Apr 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 08 April 2009 09:55 These are the first interior photos and exterior design sketches of Mercedes’ SLS AMG, the 563bhp gullwing-door successor to the SLR that will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2009. The official sketch reveals a bold grille with – you guessed it – the three-pointed star hogging centre stage, sweptback headlamps (Nissan GTR, anyone?), deeply scalloped side gills and a low, pillarbox-style glasshouse. Not forgetting, of course, the gullwing doors that ape the 1950s original. That it’s a mixture of unique fixtures and fittings, plus a couple of disappointing parts lifted from lesser Mercs.
Ford's NA Design Director aims to shorten product lifecycles
Wed, 16 Jul 2008Peter Horbury, Ford Motor Company North America Design Director, has told Automotive News he intends to shorten product lifecycles at the ailing company from an average five years to three years starting this decade. "We feel there is no value in minor changes but a huge value in major changes," Horbury told the industry weekly. Ford needs to ensure that buyers continue visiting showrooms as the giant automaker struggles to retain market share.
