Porsche Macan née Porsche Cajun
Thu, 16 Feb 2012The Porsche Cajun is actually the Porsche Macan Porsche has revealed that the new baby Cayenne will be called the Porsche Macan, not the nickname ‘Cajun’ used so far. We’ve wondered for some time if the Porsche Cajun name would make production. After all, it was only a nickname attached to what will be a ‘Cayenne Junior’, although the ‘Peppery’ flavour made sense.
EyesOn Design Awards 2014 presented in Detroit
Wed, 15 Jan 2014The winners of the EyesOn Design Awards have been announced in COBO Hall at the end of the second press day of the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. More than 30 competition judges, who are active or retired heads of design at automotive manufacturers and chairs of transportation design education programs, declared the Ford Mustang the ‘Best Production Car'. The 2015 model, relaunched in time for the model's upcoming 50-year anniversary, is instantly recognizable as a Mustang, retaining similar proportions to the outgoing model but with a more sculpted and sophisticated silhouette.
New Toyota Auris starts rolling out at Burnaston
Mon, 05 Nov 2012The new 2013 Toyota Auris – Toyota’s modern Corolla – has commenced production at the Toyota plant in Burnaston. Toyota revealed the new Auris back in August – ahead of a public debut at the Paris Motor Show – which, although pretty much the previous Auris when you dig deep, does offer a more dynamic look and the promise of better driving dynamics too. With the new Auris a big deal for Toyota in Europe, Toyota are trumpeting the start of Auris production in Burnaston and have rolled out Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, to mark the occasion.
