BMW Concept Active Tourer – It’s the BMW B Class
Fri, 14 Sep 2012The BMW Concept Active Tourer has been revealed ahead of the Paris Motor Show, previewing BMW’s new FWD direction. We recently had Mercedes roll out their take on the BMW 1 Series with the new A Class, and now the roles are reversed with BMW revealing their take on the Mercedes B Class with the BMW Concept Active Tourer. The BMW Concept Active Tourer is a preview of BMW’s front wheel drive future in the small premium sector, even if the Concept Active Tourer is notionally 4WD thanks to its a 67bhp electric motor driving the back axle in this hybrid setup.
Driven: Kia Picanto
Fri, 16 Sep 2011The first-generation Kia Picanto was one of the cars that helped promote Kia from the lower half of the second-division to somewhere near the playoff places. Its combination of great value, five-door practicality and vaguely cutesy - if thoroughly unremarkable - design found it many a home on the driveway of those looking for an A-segment hatchback. The second-generation model is playing a rather tougher ballgame.
Concept Car of the Week: Pininfarina Peugette (1976)
Fri, 20 Jun 2014Unveiled in 1972, the Peugeot 104 was a compact car with a simple and honest design by Paolo Martin. The most powerful ZS model was more of a warm hatch than a hot one, but it did feature a 1124cc engine with 66bhp. Thanks to the car's weight of only 760kg, the car could reach speeds of up to 100mph - terrifying in a 104.
