Subaru won't just show the new BRZ sports car at the 2011 Tokyo motor show – it'll also unveil this Advanced Tourer Concept hybrid car. Pitched as a hint at what could replace the Subaru Legacy, Subaru says the new Advanced Tourer Concept juggles 'driving performance and utility.' This concept car is a bit smaller than today's Legacy, however; at 4580mm long, it's more C-segment sized than the current 4775mm Legacy wagon. In a surprise announcement, Honda has decided to close design operations in Europe, based in Germany. The decision to shut down both the car design and motorcycle design studios of Honda R&D Europe (HRE-G) in Offenbach, near Frankfurt was taken at the end of September and came as a shock announcement to employees. It represents the latest casualty in cuts for the car design community.

Alfonso Albaisa has been appointed vice president of Nissan Design Europe (NDE) located in Paddington, London, effective April 1, 2007. Albaisa replaces Satoru Tai, who will return to Japan. In his new role, the 42-year-old Cuban-American will head a team of more than 50 international designers, modelers and support staff.
