Hyundai wins Red Dot design award for New Genesis & New i10

It’s not long since Hyundai’s USP was the cheapness of its cars, but those days are now gone; Hyundai now competes head to head with mainstream makers as the strength of its products improves with every new model and its designs make Hyundai appealing without resorting to bargain basement headline prices. That has been perfectly illustrated with the Red Dot Design awards for both the new Genesis and the new Generation i10, both of which have received the Red Dot Design award – a first for Hyundai.

The MINI Paceman arrived at the Detroit Motor Show in 2011 as a concept, but it was clear, even then, that MINI wouldn’t be able to resist building the Countryman Coupe as a cheaper alternative to the Range Rover Evoque. So now we have the production version of the Paceman revealed ahead of its public debut at Paris 2012, looking exactly like the Paceman Concept.
GM tipped to buy Tesla in 2014 - report

New media reports in the US suggest that one of America's biggest car makers, General Motors, is considering buying Tesla in 2014. Veteran auto industry analyst Yra Harris, of Praxis Trading, told CNBC that GM may make a bid for Elon Musk's electric vehicle (EV) specialist in the coming months.
