Lightweight and flexible, it provides protection from abrasions and is crush resistance. Split-loom design makes installation easy. Manufactured from impact modified, heat stabilized Nylon 6, it offers high temperature resistance. Beware of cheap "Poly" wire loom Don't make the mistake of using cheap polyethylene (poly) wire loom under the hood of your car or truck. Polyethylene is not rated for high temperatures and does not meet automotive specifications. The wire loom in this listing is Nylon, and is made for the high temperatures of your engine bay. High Temp Nylon wire loom Features Perfect for use on automotives, Nylon loom is a split tubing manufactured from Nylon 6, an impact modified, heat stabilized material which withstands the extreme temperatures of engines and other heat-generating components. This heat rating is based on a 3,000 hour continuous heat age; essentially, the tubing can be placed near the vehicle engine, and the vehicle could travel at 60 miles per hour for 3,000 continuous hours (180,000 miles) before any material deterioration occurs Nylon loom has a "Continuous Use" rating of 125° C (257° F) and a "Maximum Temperature" rating of 175° C (347° F). Nylon loom can withstand almost any temperature produced in the engine compartment of a vehicle. Wed, 28 Dec 2011Diesel cars best option says former US Transport Secretary Former American Transport Secretary Norman Mineta is urging the US Government to promote high efficiency diesels instead of electric and hybrid cars. Just like the UK government, the US government seems obsessed with promoting electric and hybrid cars as the way of the future, something anyone who really knows cars will tell you is a nonsensical approach. Hybrid and electric cars are too costly to produce and have little appeal for the car buying public.
Concept Car of the Week: Ford Mustang RSX Concept (1979)
Fri, 28 Feb 2014In the late ‘70s, Ford commissioned carrozzeria Ghia to build a concept car based on the Fox platform to help promote its third generation Mustang. Probably inspired by the Escort RS's success at the World Rally Championship, the concept was dubbed RSX – standing for Rally Sport Experimental – and the Fox platform-based Mustang was modified as a rally car. To improve the handling, the wheelbase from the Fox was shortened by 142mm, the track was widened by around 25mm at the rear while the ride height was increased for off-tarmac stages of European rallies.
