I have a 4 person Switlik Rescue pod for sale. It was inflated and inspected recently before we decided to go with an offshore life raft for a upcoming trip. This one is in Ideal condition and just needs its 5 year repacking/recertification (Costs about $300). The Rescue Pod is a very high quality inflatable flotation platform with canopy that supports four people and offers basic protection from the elements. The compact size of its fiberglass container allows it to be carried aboard the smallest open fishing boat, day cruiser or sail boat. The inflatable canopy provides better hypothermia protection than the single layer used on standard life rafts. Sun, 03 May 2009Chinese car maker BYD are using revolutionary battery technology in the BYD E6 The biggest problem with electric cars (or one of them, at least) is that the battery technology is not really up to the ambitions of car makers. Chevrolet’s Volt (aka Opel Ampera) is a good case in point. Tellingly, a Toyota tecchy referred to the science behind the Chevvy Volt as ‘Vaporware’, and the whole project is founded on the expectation that the technolgy will develop quickly enough to make the car a reality.
Toyota Trucks get TRD accessories at Chicago Auto Show

The Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner each get kits designed by Toyota Racing Development that will be installed at the factory. All TRD Pro Series kits will include: - TRD Bilstein remote-reservoir shocks - TRD-tuned front springs - TRD front skid plate - A bunch of cosmetic touches like TRD floor mats and shift knobs.
Toyota ordered by Japan to address Prius brake complaints
Wed, 03 Feb 2010Toyota Motor Corp., already grappling with recalls totaling 8.1 million vehicles on five continents, has been ordered by Japan's Ministry of Transportation to investigate a rash of consumer complaints about braking problems in its popular third-generation Prius hybrid vehicle. The Japanese carmaker has received several complaints about braking in the Prius in both Japan and North America since the end of last year, Toyota spokeswoman Ririko Takeuchi said. She did not say when the directive was issued or how Toyota would respond.
