2014 Toyota Corolla order guide leaked

The 2014 Toyota Corolla arrives in dealerships later this year, but some bits of information about the big seller have leaked through a Kansas dealer to Car and Driver. The Corolla will stick with a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine, but will add Toyota's Valvematic variable valve timing, which may add a few ponies. De Tomaso plans to unveil new Pantera

Following the unveiling of its new Pininfarina-designed Deauville at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, De Tomaso is planning to unveil a new Pantera at September's Frankfurt motor show. The new Pantera, arguably De Tomaso's best-known sports car, will maintain its traditional American Corvette V8 engine, producing over 600 horsepower. De Tomaso is hoping that sales of the Deauville crossover will contribute towards the development of a new 'primal concrete sledge'.

Opening day auction results from Monterey

In results gathered by Hagerty Insurance, $5.8 million worth of cars, trucks and motorcycles were sold Thursday at auctions on the Monterey Peninsula. A total of 190 of 323 lots were sold, for a sell-through rate of 59 percent. The average selling price was $30,511.
