Mon, 09 Jan 2012Bentley Continental GT V8 - UK prices Today sees the public debut of the Bentley Continental GT V8 ( and GTC V8) at Detroit, and the reveal of UK prices - £123,850 for the GT V8 & £136,250 for the GTC V8. We got the reveal of the new Bentley Continental GT V8 – and the Continental GTC V8 – last month, ahead of its public unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show today. We also got the leak of some German prices for the Continental GT V8 just after Christmas, which we reckoned meant the UK GT V8 would start around £115k.

The 5-door ‘race-inspired’ Civic is based on the 1.8 SE model, but comes with colour-coded wheel arches and some 17-inch ‘Le Mans’ alloy wheels. If that’s not enough to send you running down to the dealership, then Honda hopes the addition of a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearstick might.
Is the DfT trying to nobble 80mph speed limit trials?
Wed, 31 Oct 2012With trials proposed for an 80mph speed limit, the ABD are asking if the DfT are trying to fix the trials by running them on congested motorways. When the ConDems came to power, and Philip Hammond was made Transport Secretary, we did hope that might be a sign that government policy on cars would finally make sense, especially when Philip Hammond declared ‘The war on motorists is over‘. Philip’s aim was to look at stuff like national speed limits and create a system that made sense, rather than the silly situation we have where everyone knows you won’t get nicked for 85mph on a motorway unless plod got out of bed the wrong side.
