UK motorway to charge moving electric cars
Tue, 15 Apr 2014The Highways Agency is set to test wireless charging in moving electric cars on a UK motorway, according to Engineering and Technology Magazine. This would see electric vehicles gain additional charge as they passed over wireless charging nodes embedded in the motorway’s road surface. Wed, 25 Jun 2008By Adam Towler Motor Industry 25 June 2008 13:01 It was an odd place for an inside line into what future Volkswagens will look like, but when head of VW Group design Walter de Silva invited CAR to the old Fiat Lingotto factory in Turin - now a conference and shopping centre – we could hardly say no. De Silva described VW as being immersed in a 'process of defining their design language' which could be read as ‘we’re still sucking our designer thumbs to see what happens’. Audi, De Silva said, had already been through that process and its design DNA was ‘understood by everyone in the company, right down to the smallest details'.
Toyota SAI – New Toyota Hybrid
Fri, 02 Oct 2009The new Toyota SAI will be based on the Lexus HS250 (pictured) Update 20/0/09: The Toyota Sai has now been revealed. The Toyota SAI is going to launch on the 20th October in Japan. To all intents and purposes it is a Lexus HS250 under the skin and features a similar drivetrain to the new Prius, but with a 2.4 litre petrol engine instead of the 1.8 litre in the Prius.
