Some surface rust. Rubber seal is dry & hard.
Brand:unknown Warranty:No Placement on Vehicle:Front Country/Region of Manufacture:United States

I found this old windshield in my barn.  Based on the registration stickers on it, it must have manufactured prior to 1938, but I'm unaware of when or for what vehicle.  I'm guessing it dates from the '20s or '30s.  It measures 43-1/2" wide at the top, 42-3/4" wide at the bottom, 13-5/16" high at each side, and 11-7/8" high in the middle.  All measurements were made to the metal frame, not to the mounting bracket at the top, nor to the remainder of the rubber seal at the bottom.  There is a fair amount of surface rust, but the frame and glass are solid and intact.  The rubber seal is dry and hard.  Due to the size, weight, and bulkiness, I am offering it only for local pickup.

I've described and documented this item to the best of my ability and am selling it as-is, without the option to return it, so please ask any questions and assure that it meets your needs.

Unless other mutually-agreeable arrangements are made, I require the item to be paid in full within three days of the conclusion of the auction and picked up locally within two weeks of the conclusion of the auction.

Land Rover confirms end of Defender production

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

It's been all but a foregone conclusion for some time now, but Land Rover has confirmed to our sister publication Automotive News Europe that the aging Defender won't live to see 2020. Originally conceived as an agricultural machine, the first Land Rover prototype used scavenged Willys Jeep bits left over from World War II. American kids of a certain age may have been captivated by the Land Rover's mystique while watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom back in the '70s.

Toyota’s goal is to offer a hybrid powertrain in every one of its European models ‘as early as possible in the 2020s’. That means electrified drivetrains in everything from the Avensis to the Auris, and everything from 4x4s to sports cars in between. The Auris HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) was the first mainstream Toyota model to gain hybrid power in 2010, and up next is the new-generation Yaris.

Jeep and Mopar are teaming up to create a line of rugged trailers to go anywhere and haul anything. The Jeep Trail Edition campers will match the conventional Jeep in colors and ruggedness, including 32-inch tires, diamond plating and a tall enough suspension to navigate big ruts. The trailers will pop open to sleep four adults while offering 76 inches of headroom.
