PLEASE NOTE: A good friend of mine with an empty one ton van is leaving Montana and driving to Pennsylvania and back sometime in late July. He will deliver this box anywhere along his route for $150 which is a good deal for everyone. His route has not yet been finalized so please call me if you are interested in this great delivery option. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn - phone 406-799-1847 in Bozeman Montana This is an exceptionally nice original 1925 Model T Ford pickup box assembly. Ford introduced this box in mid 1925 but it will work fine on any 1923 to 1925 Model T roadsters that have the slanted windshield. I have had several inquiries asking if this box will fit the 1926 to 1927 Model T and the answer is yes but it will NOT be authentic for that application. I realize this box looks very similar to the 1926 - 1927 Model T pickup boxes and the later 1928 to mid 1931 Model A pickup boxes but it is unique in one very important aspect. The main difference in these three series of boxes is how the rear fenders attach to the box. The rear fenders for the 1923 to 1925 pickups not bolt directly to the sides of this box as they do on the 1926 -1927 Model T roadsters and later Model A's. This box uses the same fender that is used on the 1923 to 1925 roadster equipped with a turtle deck. This box is complete with the stamped steel reinforcing plates inside the box sides where the oval brackets attach on the outside of the box sides. Those oval brackets are used to screw the rod into that holds the top of the roadster fender in place. Those two oval brackets and the rods that screw into them are missing from this box. I can supply a sketch snowing how to easily fabricate them if need be. I have another very nice original 1925 Model T Ford pickup box very much like this one if you need two of them or have a friend that is looking for one too. That is the box that happens to have the oval fender support rod brackets on it that I can make a sketch of. I also have a good 1928 - mid 1931 Model A Ford pickup box I will be listing here soon. I also have a fairly good and very scarce mid 1931 or later "wide box" pickup box for a late Model A Ford pickup and it is also listed here on eBay now. I suspect most of these very scarce boxes were installed by the Ford dealer rather than ordered as part of a roadster pickup vehicle from the Ford factory. One simply had to remove the turtle deck from the roadster, install this box and you then had a Model T Ford pickup. That installation produced a vehicle which was much more useful than the regular roadster with the turtle deck ever was. The last photo of this listing shows how nice this box will look on the back of your 1923, 1924 or 1925 Model T roadster. This box is exceptionally straight and solid as far as Model T Ford pickup boxes go. The only rusted out spot on the entire box is at the bottom of the left front stake pocket. That damage is shown in the next to the last photo of this listing and should not be too difficult to repair. A lot of these Model T and Model A pickup boxes rust out along the bottom of the channel that is under the tail gate. This box appears to have no rust holes or even weak spots there that I can find. The tail gate on the box is way better than most of them that I find. It is twisted a bit and that is why it is not latched on the left side. I am leaving the task of straightening this tail gate to the next owner of this fine box. Thanks to our relatively dry climate here in Montana, the surfaces of the sheet metal on this box are not heavily rust pitted as they often are in the wetter parts of the country. I have owned nine 1926 - 1927 Model T Ford pickup boxes in my life so far and only two of these earlier 1925 boxes. That should give you some idea of how scarce these are compared to the later Ford boxes. The addition of this box will considerably increase the value of your Model T roadster and make it much easier to sell if you ever choose to do so. If you happen to have any interest at all in a box like this, I would suggest you read pages 357 through 367 in Bruce McCalleys wonderful Model T Ford book titled "Model T Ford - The Car That Changed The World". Those 11 pages are devoted exclusively to the 1925 Model T Ford roadster pickup. A very nice original "survivor" truck is shown in great detail along with many original Ford factory photos of this very special truck. I have a lot of friends in the collectible car, truck, tractor, toy and sign hobbies. They may be able to safely and economically deliver this gem depending on where you live and how soon you want it there. I have also had great success in using Uship.com to find individuals who are looking for things to deliver along their trips. I can also attach this box to a shipping pallet and ship it by truck freight if need be but that is usually rather expensive compared to other alternative shipping options. This box is too large and too heavy to ship by bus. I have about 20 larger and more detailed photos of this box that I can email to you if you call me and give me your regular email address. I don't like to send them through the eBay email system because I can only send 3 at a time and they come through much smaller on your end than they were when I sent them. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn - phone 406-799-1847 in Bozeman Montana 59715. |

Fiat challenges RCA students to design the 500 or Panda of 2020
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Fiat is challenging Vehicle Design students at London's Royal College of Art to explore how the Fiat 500 and the Panda might look in 2020 in a new contest called ‘Two of a Kind'. 14 teams of four students from across all design disciplines are asked to design innovative exterior and interior proposals taking interactivity, digital interface, sustainability and global appeal in account, using the Fiat design language as a starting point. The Master's students will be supported by six lectures at the RCA from some of the carmaker's top designers, such as head of design (Europe, Middle East and Asia regions) Roberto Giolito and head of global design Lorenzo Ramaciotti.
Kia styling chief Schreyer is fluent in Koreapean
Thu, 05 May 2011The way Peter Schreyer sees it, there is one key difference between European and Korean automakers: Europeans design from the heart, Koreans from the head. "In a European company, everybody is a car driver, a car enthusiast," says the Germany-born design chief of Kia Motors Corp. "Everybody from the CEO to the little designer to people on the production line, they want to build cars they want to drive themselves." Koreans can be more market-oriented: "They look at the big picture, which markets to explore or conquer.
Milano Design Week 2004
Mon, 17 May 2004In its 43rd year the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (international furniture fair) finally takes on a new, more encompassing name: Milano Design Week 04. The reason for this change in quite simply a question of numbers; the week long fair is no longer only a platform for furniture manufacturers to show their latest collections, it is an enormous manifestation of all that is designed from everywhere in the world. Therefore, and understandably, an event that hosts the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (home ware and furniture), Eurocucina (bathrooms), EIMU (office furniture), Tessile (fabrics), Salone Satellite (young designers), Dining Design, Designing Designers, Material ConneXion, and Street Dining Design deserved a more noble title.
