This is a very RARE 2 barrel Schebler S Duplex 1 1/4" cast iron carburetor. This is the later series used on a 1930 REO Royal 8 ( notice the bottom configuration which is how I identified this as being a SX434 carb also see the last picture of the stamped number which is faint). This might also be used on Auburn, Cord, Marmon and others. Notice that one of the linkage arms is adjustable. This looks new BUT this has been sitting around for ages with a few dings. This is as close to new as you can get. Took it apart to free up the stuck pieces and it now moves freely. Be sure to check my other items daily. 2009 Michelin Challenge Design theme announced
Tue, 15 Jan 2008Michelin today announced the 2009 theme for its global vehicle design competition, Michelin Challenge Design (MCD), asking entrants to explore the future of transportation and share their brave and bold vision for 'America's Next Iconic Vehicle.' Designers this year are asked to render unique vehicle concepts that demonstrate emotional appeal, design courage and technical execution. Additional consideration will be given to entries with attributes that benefit safety and the environment and include a separate rendering of the tire and wheel component assembly. Vehicle designs that best represent "Brave + Bold, America's Next Iconic Vehicle" will be reviewed by a jury of professional designers whose names will be announced later in 2008.
