Honda's eco-friendly Paris stars

By Nick Eaton First Official Pictures 11 September 2008 12:30 Honda will have three world debuts at the Paris motor show in October 2008, including the new Insight concept (claimed to be the world's most affordable hybrid) and a revised Civic Hybrid. Paris also marks the world debut of Honda's new iDTEC automatic gearbox and the European premiere of the Jazz. Local Motors launches Pacific Northwest competition

Local Motors' 20th design competition, themed 'Thrive in the Elements,' opens for submissions starting today, 17 March. The new American car company is calling for entrants to design a car based around the four core elements: Earth, wind, fire and water; challenging designers to create a vehicle that will 'inspire Pacific Northwesterners to thrive'. The deadline for entries is 30 March 2010.

Mazda CX-5

Mazda will unveil its CX-5 compact crossover SUV at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September. The CX-5 is the first production model to showcase the company's new design language, first seen on the Mazda's Shinari and Minagi concepts. Features such as a prominent new frontal treatment with a large Mazda logo and dynamic styling designed to convey a 'strong sense of vitality and agility' are examples of the spirit of Kodo, according to the company.
