For sale is an original '38-'48 Ford Flathead V8 oil pan.  This oil pan is very solid, and will clean up well.  Missing the drain plug, but included is the dipstick tube and dipstick.  See photos. The competition package for the new M5 & M6 costs from £5,500 The arrival of the newly refreshed BMW 5 Series saw the arrival of a new entry-level point – the 518d – and the option at the other end of the scale of a Competition Package for both the M5 and M6 (in all three varieties). Now, BMW has decided how much they are going to cost you. The Competition Package for the M5 and M6 comes in a bit steeper than we’d expected (we reckoned it would cost around £5k), with the cheapest option being on the M6 Gran Coupe £5,500) and the most expensive on the M5 saloon (£6,700).

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster to get carbon fibre targa top The Italian Motoring press are reporting that the new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will get a carbon fibre Targa roof. Lamborghini has always had a slightly cavalier attitude to the roadster roofs they put on their cars. Even the range-topping Murcielago Roadster had an origami canvas top on a frame made of old coat hangers that took longer to put up than the passing shower you were trying to shelter from.

The Lamborghini of today is a far cry from the Lamborghini of old. Starting life as a tractor maker, Lamborghini cars came in to being when Ferruccio Lamborghini complained to Enzo Ferrari about the clutch on his new Ferarri. The dismissive response was that “the fault is with the driver, not the car”, and so was born Ferruccio Lamborghini’s resolve to build a car to take on the might of Marenello from his factory in Sant’Agata (incidentally, when Lamborghini took apart the transmission in question, he discovered is was the same unit he was currently building in to his tractors!).
