BMW 5 Series GT (w/ Video)

BMW officially took the wraps off the production version 5 Series Gran Turismo today. The new model, previewed in concept form at the Geneva motor show in March, is set to bridge the gap between the automaker's X5 SUV and the 5 Series Touring wagon. As we expected, BMW has remained true to form: the 5 Series GT is identical to the design of its concept precursor, including a lower body section and taillamps that call to mind the latest BMW 7 Series, a front end reminiscent of the CS concept, and an upper cabin design familiar to anyone who's seen an X6.  The interior has seen the most change, if only in color and trim.

It's the first S-badged Audi to feature an oil-burner plumbed in behind its prodigious front grille, though Audi is confident it's still every bit as worthy of the badge as its petrol-sipping brethren. Lexus LFA Nurburgring sets a Lap Record at the Nordschleife The news that the Lexus LFA Nurburgring has lapped the track after which it is named in a remarkable 7:14.64 will bring a smile to the face of Hiromu Naruse, wherever he may be. Hiromu Naruse was considers by most whose opinion matters to be the ‘Godfather’ of the Japanese performance car’, and devoted most of the last decade of his life to honing and developing the LFA. He lost his life in an LFA Nurburgring Edition in the Summer of 2010 whilst testing the car near the Nurburgring itself, and it’s nice to think that if he’d still been with us, despite his age, it could well have been Naruse-san at the wheel.
