Retro Tin-Top Racers Are Go
Thu, 06 Mar 2014THRUXTON race circuit will be the venue for a new series of historic motorsport, as a championship for older touring cars will make its debut over the forthcoming Easter weekend. Thanks to the likes of Goodwood's popular Revival meeting for historically significant race cars, interest in such formats is on the rise. Along with genuinely historic machinery, the circuit will play host to the inaugural round of the new Super Touring Car Championship.
Mercedes GLA 45 AMG (2014) first official pictures
Tue, 07 Jan 2014By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 07 January 2014 10:00 This is, at last, the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG. We’ve seen Visions of the GLA, and a ghastly stickered-up ‘concept’ version, but this is the surprisingly handsome production version of Merc’s super-crossover. Prices are expected to top £43k, outpunching the Audi RSQ3’s ask, and Merc’s other four-pot rockets, the A45 and CLA 45, which start at £38,190 and £42,265 respectively.
Ferrari LaFerrari lands in China: Shanghai Motor Show
Wed, 24 Apr 2013Ferrari’s hybrid supercar was as eagerly received as it was in Geneva, with a sea of photographers, press and visitors thronging to get a glimpse of what is undeniably an impressive ‘F70′ from Ferrari. But looking good is perhaps the second ‘must have’ for a supercar – especially one that replaces the Enzo – and LaFerrari looks to deliver on the number one priority for most supercar buyers - performance. With 798bhp from its naturally aspirated V12 and an extra 161bhp from its electric motor, LaFerrari promises a dose of green credentials – important, to a degree, on China’s polluted roads – to go with its performance and handling, performance that can see the car it get to 62mph in under 3 seconds and on to a 186mph in an even more impressive 15.5 seconds.
